Additional info: Brandy's personal career in the world of fitness is the
result of personal obstacles that she had to overcome earlier
in her life. She first had to battle an eating disorder, and
then a significant weight gain before creating the award
winning body and look that she has achieved today. Through
her personal battles Brandy has learned the proper techniques
of eating, training, and using quality supplements for a
lean, healthy body.
Twelve years ago, while attending high school, Brandy became
anorexic and weighed a dangerously low weight of 74 pounds.
As a high school senior Brandy read a magazine article
talking about the benefits of a 1,200 calorie a day diet. At
that time Brandy was 115 pounds and thought it would be fun
to lose some extra weight. She did, and when other people
started to complement her on her appearance she cut back
further on the calories. And then she cut back more, and then
some more. And eventually she found herself well under the
required 1,200 calorie a day diet plan.
Brandy found herself at a point where she would not eat
anything significant for days at a time. And then one day she
realized that her life was in danger, and her mom had her
hospitalized fearing that Brandy's weakened body could not
take much more. Brandy then promptly started to eat. The end
result was that she not only gained back her weight but but
gained even more. She in fact gained 62 pounds in 3 months
while in college, thus starting her bout with Bulimia.
Brandy says she felt the most successful when she had
anorexia because she felt control of her life for the first
time. Her childhood was up and down, but during her senior
years in high school she was working two jobs and getting
good grades. But her bouts with Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia
during this time caused her to feel desperate. She tried
running away and becoming a nanny. But then realized that she
had to come back and face her fears.
After having made her major gain in weight Brandy then joined
a local health club so see if exercise could help her control
her weight. She started doing aerobics, but no weight
training at first. Then she met Aaron, a trainer at the gym,
who eventually became her husband. Aaron helped Brandy with
her eating and exercise plans, and introduced Brandy to
including supplements in her health regimen.
Once Brandy started making use of supplements such as
Hydroxycut and NITRO-Tech, products from Muscle Tech Research
and Development did she realize how effective some of these
supplements can be in developing a healthy physique.
Today, Brandy and her husban Aaron both compete in national
and international fitness and bodybuilding competitions.
Brandy placed 3rd in her first competition. She has gone on
to earn her IFBB Pro Card. Her husband Aaron is the 1999 NPC
National Champion. And together Brandy and Aaron own and
operate their own local fitness club and show that a healthy
lifestyle helps to drive personal and professional success.
